Hi, I’m your host, Keith Welch. I’m a software developer and the founder of Mooseworks Software. For about half of the year, I live in North Caicos, in the Turks and Caicos Islands. The photo in the header is from our deck. People have often told me I’m living the dream, and they’re right. I’ve made some good choices, some not so good choices, and had some of each kind of luck. So far, I’m net positive, which is nice. The island has a lot of stories, and some of them will make an appearance here.
Mooseworks is a developer tool and service company, focusing on mobile technologies. I’ve been in mobile for 10 years, before all the cool kids caught on. We also provide application development services, including web data services for mobile apps. We’ll set you up with hosting as well, so we’re a full service shop.
Over 30 years, I’ve worked for the U.S. Navy, three Fortune 500 companies, three profitable small companies, one failed startup, and myself. I’ve been through two mergers, and one rumored one. I’ve worked in hardware, software, and program management, in military, avionics, municipal water, medical, measurement, data quality, consumer web app, mobile app, social platforms and developer tool areas. You learn a lot over the course of a career.
This blog will attempt to share some of what I’ve learned over the course of a career and life. Of course, I’m not done yet. Mooseworks Software is growing, and I’m learning more in the process.
